The Terms & Conditions describes the terms and conditions that the client ("you" or "member" or "practitioner") agree to in order to use Yoga Mama (Yoga Mama – nzyogamama, “we” or “us” or "our") Services ("classes", "yoga class/es") including in-studio yoga classes (any physical location where both client and Yoga Mama teacher meet), online virtual yoga classes (where client is in their own premises and connects to Yoga Mama teacher via an online medium such as Zoom) or on-demand yoga classes (where the client streams pre-recorded classes from the Yoga Mama website or other online service).

Read this policy and make sure you fully understand our terms and conditions for a safe practice for all members, before you access or use any of our Services.  If you read and fully understand this Privacy Policy, and remain opposed to our terms or conditions, you must immediately leave this website, application or service, and avoid or discontinue all use of any of our Services.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy, please contact us at

1. Client suitability to practice

1.1. By using Yoga Mama Services you acknowledge and accept that:

  • to the best of your knowledge, you suffer from no medical or physical condition or disability that will or might increase the normal risks associated with exercise; [and / or]

  • your doctor has approved your participation in our yoga classes – especially if you are undergoing medical treatment or have recently had a medical procedure

  • you will practice self-care at all times – rest when you are tired, pace yourself, choose to omit any exercise or posture that does not feel good on any given day, be patient, observe and respect your body’s physical limitations.

1.2. You must cease the practice of Yoga Mama Services (until medically cleared) if:

  • you suffer from any [new] injury, illness or other medical condition;

  • you feel any pain or discomfort during an yoga class; or

  • you feel that any exercise included in a yoga class would be unsafe or uncomfortable for you.

2. Keeping the studio space safe

2.1. To ensure a safe and healthy space for all practitioners and Yoga Mama teachers when attending a yoga class at the Yoga Mama studio YOU agree that:

  • you will not attend any in-studio yoga classes if: 

    • you exhibit any symptoms of physical illness; including but not limited to fever, influenza (flu) like symptoms or any common  symptoms of CV-19

    • you are currently in quarantine or isolation by the NZ government

    • you have knowingly been recently (in the last 14 days) exposed to a person with CV-19

  • sneeze or cough into your elbow, use disposable tissues if required and dispose of in the rubbish bin provided

2.2. To ensure a safe and healthy space for all practitioners and Yoga Mama teachers when attending a yoga class at the Yoga Mama studio WE agree that:

  • We will wash our hands prior to each yoga class commencing

  • We will clean the studio after each yoga class, including foam blocks and mats that are used

  • We will provide tissues for you if required and contact-less rubbish bin for their disposal 

  • Hand sanitiser and soap and water with disposable towels will be available at the studio for practitioners should they choose to use it

  • Practitioner contact details and studio attendance logs will be collected in accordance with government requirements; Should there be further COVID-19 cases the Ministry of Health or other authorities may request this. Data collected specifically for contact tracing will not be used for any other purposes, and will be automatically destroyed after 28 days (guidance from the Privacy Commissioner). Data collated as a part of normal membership visit recording may be kept for whatever time it is normally stored for

  • Online contactless booking and payment systems are in place and encouraged to make using the studio as easy as possible

2.3. High risk clients understand that they carry a greater individual risk when using Yoga Mama studio and choosing to use this service will take all precautions, including but not limited to section 2.1 as listed above. High risk clients include:

  • Those with underlying health conditions (e.g. asthma, heart disease, diabetes or obesity) 

  • People over the age of 70 (or whatever age the NZ government sets)

3. Limits of liability

3.1. While every precaution has been taken to create a safe practice, including options for modifications or alternatives, we do not represent, warrant, undertake or guarantee:

  • that you will not suffer from any injury arising directly or indirectly out of our yoga classes;

  • that your health will measurably improve as a result of participation in our yoga classes;

3.2. We will not be liable to you in respect of any personal injury (including without limitation serious injury or death) that you may suffer or sustain directly or indirectly as a result of attending our yoga classes.  Nor will we be liable to you in respect of any other losses arising as a result of any such personal injury. We will not be liable to you in respect of any losses arising out of any event or events beyond our reasonable control.
