Thank you for your kind style of practice. You make everyone feel welcome and I really appreciate your anatomy knowledge, it always makes me feel safe. The first course I did with you really helped improve my endometriosis symptoms. I hope to join your classes again in the future – maybe for baby number two? I had a successful transfer during this course, which I believe had a helping hand in preparing my mind and body for the IVF journey.

I enjoy all your classes, even after having done the 8 week course before. I really appreciate that you take the time to correct our poses and advise on the different options depending on how we are feeling. I really enjoyed the environment you created – in sharing your fertility story and being able to listen to others and share mine in a safe and respectful place.I also really enjoyed having scheduled relaxing time for myself every Saturday morning.I felt that I did learn how to relax and ‘switch off’ and my flexibility increased.I enjoyed the variety of what you taught.I felt that the class gave me some control over my fertility situation eg: choosing to ‘bend, not break’.Your course has really helped me.I now have some useful skills to help myself when I am feeling anxious. My husband has really noticed a change in me – and sends his gratitude also!

I especially liked the really relaxed, open, and friendly space you created. I also love your music choice – upbeat and relaxing at once.  I found the key benefits to be an overall sense of relaxing and getting into restorative mode (parasympathetic system) vs tight and anxious mode. The poses and breathing techniques were much more applicable to my daily life than the rigors of other yoga classes I’ve taken over the years. I felt this was all about loving and nurturing my body rather than ‘working’ it. You are a wonderful teacher, Julie – warm and friendly and down-to-earth, but with a sense of knowledge and wisdom to guide us.

As a total yoga 'virgin' I was somewhat nervous to join this class. Being slightly 'more than my perfect body weight' with bad back & knees, I was not sure I could cope with what I thought yoga was.  I was wrong and happily so.  Julie's calm instruction and 'work at your own pace' philosophy has made me realise I CAN do yoga.  What's more - it's actually fun!  Julie truely caters for all levels in her class.  So if like me you are new to yoga, I highly recommend Julie.  Come along and join in!

After 4 years of fertility and medical challenges I was blessed with a daughter through IVF.  I am now faced with fertility challenges again as I try to expand my family, as well as the added stress of being a busy working mum.  Fertility yoga is helping me to reconnect my mind and body and release the stress and tension that has built up, as well as realign my body post pregnancy

I liked understanding how and why certain poses were good for fertility, I loved how relaxed the classes were and the notes were very easy to follow and having a combination of visual, hands on and written was excellent. I have the confidence to practice the sequences we learned at home – at least two of us in the group are pregnant, as well as yourself so it definitely helps!

I enjoyed the breathing techniques and lower back stretches particularly and also that you encouraged us just to do what we felt capable of not try to master the pose. I found the classes great and looked forward to them each week, not only for the physical and mental benefits but it was also nice to make contact with other people going through similar treatment as it made me feel more 'normal' and was a bit like having a support group that I could talk to. Over the course of the classes, I began to feel a bit more grounded, as I realised how wound up I always felt, and I frequently used the exercises at home and at work when I found myself getting stressed or struggling with back pain or sleeplessness.

I have been attending one on one sessions with Julie every Saturday since July.  Julie has a lovely, gentle, positive teaching style and explains how the body works and what benefits the yoga poses have and lets you work at your own pace.  I have found that I am sleeping better and deeper, have improved balance, posture and flexibility, with less little aches and niggles, am more relaxed and calm and have a real sense of general well being and am able to focus on tasks that in the past were sometimes overwhelming.  I try to practice the mindfulness and breathing techniques, I have learnt and that helps a lot!  I have found that I really look forward to my yoga class and can fully concentrate on my body for that period of time and especially the relaxation part at the end of class, you walk out of there and it’s like walking on air.  Highly Recommended!

Priviate Fertility Yoga

I really enjoy the messages given at the beginning of the sessions. There is also a good range of exercises each week. It is nice to do something different each week and not the same routine. I was never all that keen on yoga, but thoroughly enjoy these sessions each week for many reasons and really miss them when I cannot make it. It is an environment that people feel comfortable and safe to share their experiences, of what is a very tough thing to be going through. Knowing there are others out there going through something similar (as we are all on a slightly different journey) is quite comforting. The sessions are a great opportunity to have some ‘time out’ of busy schedules, to be good to ourselves.
